God Speaks to Our Hearts
As we begin a new year, we fill ourselves with hope and create lists of all the things we want to do. We plan for things we didn’t do before and set out to meet our personal goals. The reality is that not everything turns out as we expected, because God always has the final say in our lives. How mistaken are we to believe that our plans are better than the ones He has for us?! His are perfect, while ours fall short and collapse at the first stumble. That’s why, now that this year begins, it is a good time to listen to Him more, to trust that He will guide our steps, and to abandon ourselves completely to Him.
As 2025 was approaching, I asked God to speak to me. I felt the need to organize my life, but this time, guided by Him and not by my own plans. I needed to hear from Him, to feel His support. In prayer, I listened to Him.
God spoke to me in a clear, transparent, and very loving way. He spoke to me about sacrifice, reminding me that as I let go of the things of this world that keep me trapped, I can move forward toward the perfect plan He has for me. It felt like preparation for the small crosses I will carry. He assured me that I will lack nothing because He is always with me, guiding me by the hand along with the Virgin, showing me that with their love and support, I can move forward without fear and without looking back.
Even though He didn’t leave me with a detailed, day-by-day plan like I would have wanted, His response filled me with motivation and gave me peace and a profound sense of security.
My days this year are passing one at a time—without rushing and without much planning. I’m simply seeking silence to be able to hear Him. Holding on to the Virgin Mary and asking for much discernment from the Holy Spirit. I don’t know what tomorrow or next week will bring, but I go forward calmly, letting myself be led.
I hope these words encourage you to release the plans or attachments that leave you feeling empty, to lay down your fears, and to place your full trust in God’s plan for your life. May you let go of control and embrace a deeper joy in your heart.
