San Damiano Fraser Fir Rosary
One day, while Saint Francis of Assisi prayed at the abandoned, rundown church in San Damiano, the icon of Christ crucified suddenly came alive! Speaking, He said, “Francis, go, rebuild My Church, which as you can see, is in ruins!” Inflamed with a burning love, Francis began to repair the church of San Damiano, but later realized that God was calling him to restore the whole Church, the Body of Christ. The San Damiano icon cross was painted to teach the meaning of Christ’s saving death and resurrection. This icon, like all others, is a “window to heaven” which helps us, through grace, encounter our God who loves us unconditionally and who calls each of us to build up His Body on earth.
This handmade wooden rosary is made of 8mm Taiwanese cheesewood cream beads that connect with 6 round green glass beads and brown and gold spacers. The rosary centerpiece medallion has Our Lady of Guadalupe on one side and our founder, little Christina, on the reverse side. The 1½” San Damiano crucifix is crafted of wood and contains a full-color epoxy image. Three little bells hang above the cross representing the Holy Trinity.
